My wife and I knew a number of people who lived at Guardian Angels, and knew from their experiences the quality of the facilities.  I also was at the Transitional Care Unit at Guardian Angels and was impressed with the quality of care I received, and the resourcefulness of those who attended me.

When we decided to downsize, Guardian Angels was the only senior living facility we visited.  You never get a second chance to make a first impression, and the Pullman Place Property Manager immediately made us feel comfortable.  She asked at what stage of downsizing we were.  She then showed us a unit that was quite nice.  On further discussion with her we were shown units of varying size and outside exposure.  In a reasonable time period a unit to our liking became available and we took it.

A few of the amenities that impressed us were:  the friendliness of the residents, the cleanliness and care current residents take of Pullman Place and their willingness to work together, the activities available, the community room, and the availability of the woodworking shop.  On our move we met many new people that were exceedingly friendly and helpful.

Our unit has wonderful space, a deck, kitchen island, and more light than one could imagine.

The facility was only a few years old when my grandma was there and it was beautiful inside and out. We almost always had our young children with us when we would visit and they loved to be there. We all have good memories of that time. We could visit in the apartment, in common areas or take a walk outside. There was a "coffee shop" where the kids could sometimes get ice cream cones. The staff was friendly and welcoming and many knew us by name. Our family felt comfortable leaving Grandma in the care of the Guardian Angels staff, this brought peace of mind when we had to be away from her. There were very few concerns during the time grandma lived there and when issues arose the staff addressed them immediately. One example was when there was no staff available at the front desk, a problem that was resolved after the first inquiry. I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful facility and staff.

I looked for a place where my mom started from independent living and moved to assisted living or nursing home if needed. And that was the reason I chose Guardian Angels by the Lake, because of this feature. The facility was moderately priced and the reputation was stellar. The aides were very caring and friendly. The nurses were very attentive to her. They communicated with me all the time. The food was delicious and tasty. The apartment she stayed had her own bath. It was just the right size for the basic furniture. She was really taken care of. My mom got the best care for the best price.

All the staff was gracious, courteous and skilled at the Care Center. They made a tough situation very pleasant.

My husband and I lived in Brooklyn Park and my husband got Alzheimer’s. I was taking care of the home and my husband and it became overwhelming. My son lives in Elk River suggested that I visit Guardian Angels by the Lake. The plan was to place my husband in Memory Care. After visiting Guardian Angels by the Lake, I was driving back home to Brooklyn Center and noticed how much busier and noisier it got as I approached the cities. I noticed that Elk River and Guardian Angels were quiet and less busy. So, it was decided that we both move to Guardian Angels.

I took care of my husband in our apartment for two years from 2018-2020 until he passed away. I continue to live at Guardian Angels because I love the activities and the food is great. I'm hardly ever in my room because I'm busy with activities and enjoy sitting on the front porch with all my friends.
